Stop two: central station: marlow arrives at the station and finds out from the station manager that the boat he had came to pick up has been wrecked and will have to be repaired, it will take him three months to repair it. The station manager tells him he will need to repair it because they need to get to the upper river station where they do not know if anyone is alive due to all the delays they have had.
